Am I This Kind of Man?

While studying Second Timothy, I ran across this quote from Chuck Swindoll. I had to stop and take stock. Am I this kind of Man???

“Second Timothy brings us to the brink of death, forcing us to consider its reality and how we might react when faced with it. Paul’s response instructs us still today. His mind was not on himself, dwelling on the injustice that had befallen him. Instead, trusting that God had him right where He wanted him, the aging apostle turned his attention to others, specifically to the church and to his young protégé, Timothy.

Where do you hope your thoughts linger as you come to the end of your days?”

Treat Everyone Equal

Just something to think about, how do we treat people? Do we treat all equal? Dear Lord help us to treat everyone the same, like your word says for us to do. Lets read a little from the bible about this matter..

James 2:1-9 KJV

My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.  For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;  And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:  Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?  Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?  But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?  Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?  If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:  But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

Romans 2:11 says "There is NO RESPECT OF PERSONS with God"  He loves us all equal and what he does for me He will do for you. What He does for you He will do for me.. He don't love the one that has the good works more..

Lord help us to treat everyone equal, from the homeless person to the president. You never know you could be entertaining angels unaware. Hebrews 13:2 says "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."

Jesus Christ The Servant, an Example to each of us

"The Servant Jesus Christ, all the way to His Death on the Cross He Served, and should be an example of how we treat people today"

-Jesus came and lived the ultimate example to us and how to treat others.

- He says to "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the... evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. Matthew 5:44,45 KJV

- When they had punished and beat Him, He Said "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. Luke 23:24 KJV

-He went on to say in Matthew "But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

- He said to "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Matthew 7:12 KJV

- He said "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: James 1:19 KJV

-A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife. Proverbs 15:18 KJV

- He was a mighty KING but put down any selfish will of his own, living a servant example to us and painfully laying His life down willfully for us. He was the perfect example and road map for us.

- Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. Luke 22:42 KJV

-Some thinks it is being RUN OVER, to let the other have the last word... but look what the KING of KINGS went through... Our example is HE.

Press on and do what God has called you to do, He will lead you!

Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha . . . saw him no more -2 Kings 2:11-12
It is not wrong for you to depend on your "Elijah" for as long as God gives him to you. But remember that the time will come when he must leave and will no longer be your guide and your leader, because God does not intend for him to stay. Even the thought of that causes you to say, "I cannot continue without my 'Elijah.' " Yet God says you must continue.
Alone at Your "Jordan" (2 Kings 2:14). The Jordan River represents the type of separation where you have no fellowship with anyone else, and where no one else can take your responsibility from you. You now have to put to the test what you learned when you were with your "Elijah." You have been to the Jordan over and over again with Elijah, but now you are facing it alone. There is no use in saying that you cannot go- the experience is here, and you must go. If you truly want to know whether or not God is the God your faith believes Him to be, then go through your "Jordan" alone.
Alone at Your "Jericho" (2 Kings 2:15). Jericho represents the place where you have seen your "Elijah" do great things. Yet when you come alone to your "Jericho," you have a strong reluctance to take the initiative and trust in God, wanting, instead, for someone else to take it for you. But if you remain true to what you learned while with your "Elijah," you will receive a sign, as Elisha did, that God is with you.
Alone at Your "Bethel" (2 Kings 2:23). At your "Bethel" you will find yourself at your wits' end but at the beginning of God's wisdom. When you come to your wits' end and feel inclined to panic- don't! Stand true to God and He will bring out His truth in a way that will make your life an expression of worship. Put into practice what you learned while with your "Elijah"- use his mantle and pray (see 2 Kings 2:13-14). Make a determination to trust in God, and do not even look for Elijah anymore. (COPIED FROM SOMEONE ELSE.. BUT GOD IS SAYING, PUT YOUR CONFIDENCE IN ME, NOT IN MAN TO ACCOMPLISH WHAT I HAVE FOR YOU DO, AS HUMANS WE GET DEPENDENT ON OTHERS TO HELP US TO DO WHAT WE FEEL THAT WE ARE CALLED TO DO, THEN WHEN THEY ARE GONE, WE ARE LOST. BUT GOD SAYS GO ON, THE FIELDS ARE WHITE IT IS HARVEST TIME.)

The Love of God

The Love Of God

Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.1 John 4:11-12 KJV

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.Romans 5:5 KJV

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:39 KJV

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 KJV

But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:4-7 KJV

But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 1 John 2:5 KJV

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 1 John 3:16

His Mercy

Do we ever think about God's Awesome Mercy and Love? Lamentations says,

" My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me. This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not."     (Wow what an awesome GOD!) His Compassion fails Not!!!
Exodus says "And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments."

Deuteronomy says "And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments."  (THAT LOVE HIM AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS, HE WILL SHOW THEM MERCY)
also says this in another scripture.. "Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;" (TO A THOUSAND GENERATIONS, WOW!!!)

In 2 Chronicles 5:13 " It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord;  (AS THE SINGERS WERE AS ONE, SINGING ABOUT HIS GOODNESS AND HIS MERCY, THE HOUSE WAS FILLED WITH A CLOUD, (THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD) AMEN..

In Closing talk to the Lord, think on positive things, speak positive things, let His Love flow through your life today. If you speak defeat you will be defeated, the enemy hears you... So speak victory in Jesus, and let Mercy and Love reign in your life today!!

Do you trust HIM to bring you through the valley?

When we are going through a low spot in life (a valley) sometimes it is hard to trust the One that made us, to see us through. Sometimes you just call His name as tears roll down your face. Maybe you don't feel like He hears you, but He does... The answer WILL come... Maybe not the answer you want but it will come...and you can rest assured that it is whats best for you.. Sometimes we just have to trust Him through His word and think on the positive, because no matter how bad a situation seems, there is always some good we can think on..esp. in His word...
(Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.) Philippians 4:8 KJV
Start calling out to Him and you will find His peace...(Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.) Isaiah :26:3 KJV
When you start to call His name JESUS, satan has to FLEE!! The word of God says that: (Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;) Luke 3:5 ....So that tells us that the rough and rocky road will be made smooth. Trust the One who gave His life for you, and already has it worked out!! Amen..... -Missy Kinchen

What Is Your Petition?

"And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? And it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? Even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed. Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is; if I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do tomorrow as the king hath said." Esther 5:6-8

When Esther had a petition; there were many people in the palace she could have gone to with that request. There were servants, the king's advisors, guards, etc. in the palace. But it would not have done her any good to go to them. They were unable to grant her petition. There was only one out of the many in the palace that could-- the king.
Click Me!When you have a petition, who do you take that request to? Who are you seeking out to grant it? Are you going to your spouse or another family member? Are you going to another brother or sister in Christ? Are you going to your pastor? Are you going to another person? Or are you going to the King? The king was the only one who had the power and authority to grant Esther's petition. Our beloved King of kings is the only One who has the power and authority to grant our request. Esther had advisors around her-- thankfully, we do too. But they only advise, they don't grant.
Click Me!If this king-- being a mere man, and evil-- knew how to give the good gift and petition that she requested, how much more does and will our Heavenly King give us the good thing that we are petitioning for. Take your request and petition to the One who has the power and authority to grant it. Don't be "running around the palace" looking to others to give you what only He can.
Click Me!Have a great day. Take your petition to the King; He is the only One who can grant it.

Nurture Your Children in the Lord

And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4

Erma Bombeck a popular humorist and author, entitled one of her best selling books "Family- The Ties that Bind...and Gag" While we smile at her title, we all know the Erma tapped into a universal truth. Family relationships can frequently be frustrating, challenging, and even hurtful. But, they can also bring us joy and blessing.
Paul had a special word for fathers(and mothers as well) in this verse. If adults aren't careful they can place unresonable expectations on children. A childs tender heart can be quickly wounded by harsh words, unfair comparisons, or ridicule.
Paul balanced his warning with encouragement to train children in God's ways, disciplining them while loving them. Parents are to cultivate their childrens interest and knowledge in spiritual truth, using biblical principles. A spiritually and emotionally well-nurtured child is a joy to parents, as well as to God.
